This Wednesday, September 17th at 12pm and Thursday, September 18th at 12pm SUGs is hosting voter registration in LG Space, to take place before and after Stan Chisholm's artist talk and panel discussion. Voters must be registered by October 7th in order to particpate in the November presidential election. Permanent Illinois residents are eligible to register, with two forms of identification: one photo ID, and a document that displays a current local residence (eg. utility bill, schedule from registrar).

We are thrilled to announce a new series of artist talks and panel discussions which will allow for increased interaction between artists, arts professionals and the SUGs audience. Please join us on Wednesday, September 17th at 12pm for Stan Chisholm's artist talk on his installation XeroxTheirPosture, currently on view in the LG Space. A panel discussion on Chisholm's work will take place on Thursday, September 18th at 12pm, with participation from various members of the Chicago arts community. Both events will be held in LG Space.

Apply to be part of A Hirsute Affair, a juried exhibition curated by Alicia Chester happening October 14 - 31, 2008 in Gallery X. The SUGs Committee allows students to get invovled directly with the running of Student Union Galleries, through choosing exhibitions, helping with publicity, recpetions, and installations. Each member is required to contribute 10 volunteer hours and to attend 4 committee meetings each term, as well as the Spring proposal review. The first meeting of the Fall 2008 semester will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd, at 12pm in LG Space.

Please join us on August 24th, 2008 from 4pm - 6pm for an open house at LG Space. This is an opportunity to view the gallery space and see XeroxTheirPosture, an installation by Stan Chisolm, before it officially opens on Thursday, August 28th, 2008.
