Feigned Terrain

Feigned Terrain presents current landscape painting by four graduate students from different disciplines. Each artist has a unique way of assessing and commenting on the contemporary environment, from the suburban to the desert, yet all are unified by a critique of how the artificial and the natural converge on the landscape. The participants address commercial factory culture and attempt to forge a new narrative out of environmental degredation, developing an ironic tone of furutistic nostalgia constructed from the detritus of consumption and the byproducts of land development.
