Jessica Tam uses traditional techniques of narrative and portrait painting to impose a theatrical element to professional wrestling. Oil paintings composed of expressive brush strokes bring a focus to the barbarity in the dramatization of a bizarre form of sports and leisure. Each painting has a mixture of popular culture and physical violence that forces the co-existence of comedy and aggression.
