FALL 2009 DIRECTOR POSITIONS!

DEADLINE EXTENDED: Tuesday, May 5th, 5:30PM in LG Space

SUGs is hiring Communications and Installation Directors for the Fall 2009 semester. These are part-time (10 hours per week) positions, that enable the facilitation of six exhibitions each semester as well as other programming events. Speed Dating

Due to the success of our 1st Speed Dating Event, we are hosting this fun mixer again on Friday, April 10th, 2009 from 4:30-6:30pm at LG Space. This is a chance to make connections across the academic scope of SAIC. Come build your network now -- after graduation, it may be your peers that you will be showing with, curated by, and recommended by for future jobs. We will provide lots of food and some easter candy - please come out and meet your colleagues!

This event is an initiative of the SAIC Graduate Lattice, a new venture aimed at facilitating greater communication and networking between School of the Art Institute of Chicago graduate students and advanced undergraduates in both academic and applied art disciplines. All students are welcome!

PROPOSAL DEADLINE EXTENDED

In an effort to ensure that as many students as possible have the opportunity to apply for SUGs booth at Art Chicago as well as Fall 2009 SUGs exhibtions, we have decided to extend our proposal deadline to Tuesday, March 24th at 5:30PM in LG Space. Proposal Workshops

Please note that we have added two more proposal workshops this week in conjunction with our new extended deadline. Although these are not mandatory, attending a workshop is highly recommended. Please contact us with any questions or if you would like some feedback!

SUGs at Art Chicago

We are excited to announce that the Student Union Galleries will be curating a booth at Art Chicago this year, from May 1 - May 4.

All proposals submitted for Fall 2009 SUGs exbitions will be considered for Art Chicago, so please remember that the deadline is March 17 at 5:30PM, and application forms are available below or on our "Resources" tab. Any students graduating this year will not be eligible for a fall SUGs show, but may apply for Art Chicago. We require, however, that all applicants follow the guidelines outlined in the SUGs proposal forms. If you have any questions, please email us at sugs@saic.edu.
